Story Behind The Brand
Grateful. This word that comes to mind often. As millennials living in NYC, sometimes we get caught up with “likes” on Instagram or “where our next vacation is” we forget how good we have it. Grateful for health, grateful for incredible friends and family, grateful for endless opportunity, grateful for simply life. Grateful is also a nod to Cara’s father’s favorite band Grateful Dead.
Teal. The teal color pays tribute to Cara’s mother, who passed away when Cara was just 12 years old following a two year battle of Ovarian Cancer.
Grateful Chocolates represents a sweet combination of both her parents, her incredibly talented business partner and chocolatier Aditi and Cara's vision of adding the healing properties of CBD to a treat everyone loves and enjoys, chocolate.
Meet The Founders
Cara has spent the last 5 years working in the fast-paced start up world in food tech sales. Working in food has come very naturally, as she has been infatuated with the culinary world since age 12 when she tried her first gourmet chocolates after a 12-course tasting menu. In the summer of 2018, Cara tried CBD for the first time. She has suffered from chronic migraines since she was a young teen and is on a constant quest for the best way to find relief from the debilitating headaches. Much to her delight, the CBD actually worked to help alleviate the migraines. She was amazed by the healing properties of CBD, and found through research that it can help with so many health conditions. Cara realized that if she could create a product to help people suffering with migraines like she did, or the anxiety that plagued many of her friends, and help people with other health and wellness objectives this could be a sweet adventure. Almost everyone has a sweet tooth and loves a little treat. Why not combine people’s craving for a sweet with the healing properties of CBD!
